In the fall of 2016, we came to Paro Woochu Primary School, a local school in Bhutan. There is a total of 800 students at this elementary school. The principal received us kindly that day and explained to me the overall education system in Bhutan, the historical overview of the school, and the education policy. During the conversation with the principal, you could feel the respect and love of the Bhutanese people for their royal family. The principal showed us around the school. The area of the school was very small but clean, and there were subtle creativities everywhere. For example, the walls were full of famous phrases to encourage children, and the washstand has instruction to teach children how to wash their hands properly.

t was raining lightly outside, and we came to the youngest class in the innermost campus. After we entered the door, the children hurried to stand up to greeted us. “Good Morning Sir and Madam,” they said loudly. The principal introduced us as the visitors from Taiwan and Shanghai. When the children knew that we had brought gifts for them, their childlike faces suddenly lit up. We distributed the stationery to the children one by one. The children were curious because they had never seen a mechanical pencil and pencil lead.  So, all of them had their eyes widened. There were also some children who pick up the eraser to smell it, picked up the pencil lead to bite it, their childlike expressions were really cute.
