After series of training classes, the seed teachers came to the first internship teaching opportunity, allowing them to apply what they’ve learned in the training course to actual teaching.

The internship started at Guanglong Elementary School in Taiping District in Taichung on July 9th. Many thanks to the school and teachers for their support and assistance.

There were more than 20 children participated, from first grade to fifth grade.  The class began from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The teacher would present the difficult language in the picture book in different ways such as hand-drawing, cutting and making various teaching aids in order to arouse children’s curiosity and interest in the book and inspire them to learn.

Some classes were carried out by three seed teachers in a team manner, working together and cooperating; some were led by themselves with the remaining teachers cooperated to help.

While leading the picture book, teacher Wu attempted using different ways, sometimes reading in whole class, sometimes reading together by two people or in groups. This not only brought variety in the class, but also allowed everyone to participate.

Immediately afterwards, Teacher Ken and Teacher Kelly extended the content of the picture book through games. Through interactions with game, teacher hope to deepen children’s impressions of the contents.

The teachers were full of vitality. In the beginning, they were slightly nervous but as time passes, they were able to interact with the children at ease. After the event, the experienced teachers who had been observing silently gave these seed teachers various suggestions. We have always believed that teaching is a very professional and influential job.

A word or an action from the teachers may have a subtle influence on the children. This is the reason why seed teachers need to be well trained. We believe that through this practical experience, the seed teachers will gain a deeper understanding of teaching. In their future teaching service, these would turn into nutrients, making their teaching more mature.
