The annual stationery project is a very important project for DENER. Before school starts, stationery will be given to children who live in the remote mountainous of Taiwan, Bhutan, Nepal, China and Africa. Today marks the seventh year of the stationary program. As in the previous years, it is carried out separately in various places. Our team in Shanghai is responsible raising the funding for schools in China; while in Taiwan, we are responsible for schools in Taiwan and overseas such as Nepal, Bhutan, India and Africa.

Because these schools are located in the remote mountains, supplies are often difficult to get. Skimming the difficult living environment, there children even don’t have a pen in previous years, it was very reluctant to us. During several field visits, we realize that children in these remote areas were very lack of resources for extracurricular activities such as art, sports and music. But precisely these actives are the most inspire the creativity and action of young children. Remember when we were young, we often used colored pencils to paint everywhere, In order to help these remote children to draw their lovely childhood, DENER decide to add colored pencils to remote children in China after discussion.

Colored pencils holders purchased this year. There were 12 colored pencils in each pen holder, there were also printed with children’s favorite pictures.

In addition, for students studying in Buddhist academy, DENER design a lightweight school bag with manufacturers this year. Most of the Buddhist academies we sponsor were located in very remote mountainous, and the transportation in mountainous was often inconvenient. Moreover, it often rains in the mountains. These students often need to walk by foot in the mountains, so their life was not easy. This year we want design a school bag that could based on the actual situation of students in these school. we hope that the schoolbag should not only be practical, but also lightweight, so that students of Buddhist academies could easily climb up and down.

Each school bag also contains our previous pencil case, which contains a complete set of stationery, including mechanical pencils, pencil leads, erasers and ball pens.

This time the stationery order just happened to the environmental protection policies changing and the printing factories relocated. Although we had made some preparations earlier, but we still very nervous. Thanks a lot to our suppliers, not only pay close attention to all the processes and delivery on time, but also subcontract and ship for us. Because there were many schools in China, and the number of students in each school was different, so manufacturers need to take careful subcontracting and inventory.

These schools were also located in very remote mountainous, the transportation had always been a big challenge for us. As usual, we try to use postal mail. We also thank our good friend Hongfeng company, after know that our huge expenses for transportation, they were incumbent to sponsor part of the transportation costs.

Volunteers in Shanghai very carefully provided the receipt information of all schools to the manufacturer for printing, as a wheat head in the box. Each box was completely packed and sealed.

Boxes of stationery and schoolbags in a truck, ready to be send to schools everywhere.

The postal staff in Taiwan helped us carefully weigh and strengthen the sealing of the stationery that will be shipped to schools in Bhutan and Nepal.

Remembering the beginning of DENER, it was difficult to raise some funds. Since the number of stationery ordered from the factory was not large, so a few of our friends need to sort, unpack, label, and assemble them. Ad then hold the box divide it into several round to the post office to send. Along the way, several years had passed.

Thanks so much for many kindness people, let a pen became a set stationery now.We also thanks to the manufacturers who cooperated, now they are willing to help us organize, pack and send.

Over the years, everything we have experienced is like a beautiful branch that stretches and stretches, bringing everyone together closely. A seemingly simple action may not change all the difficulties at once, but over time, life will grow new shoots. We believe that in the unknowable future, the seeds sown at the beginning will surely thrive into a dense forest.
