Children in Remote Areas Need Your Support

In Taiwan's remote mountain areas, existing a significant gap compared to urban regions. Due to inconvenient geography, a lack of after-school support, high teacher turnover rates, and a high proportion of disadvantaged families, children in these areas face severe challenges, including a shortage of resources, limited cultural exposure, and lower academic performance. DENER has been consistently providing educational resources and learning materials to these underserved areas, striving to bridge the academic gap between urban and rural children and ensuring that those in remote areas have equal learning opportunities. We invite you to join us in supporting DENER's three major educational initiatives, bringing hope and light to children in the most isolated corners.

Diverse Learning Tools

Due to geographical limitations, schools in remote areas lack the convenience of resources and facilities that are available in urban areas. DENER purchases a variety of learning materials, such as pencils, watercolor paints, sets of books, and sports equipment, which are then carefully packed and shipped by volunteers. Your support will be used to purchase various learning supplies and cover transportation costs.

During winter and summer vacations, over 60% of children are left with limited access to extracurricular or tutoring programs.

Each year, we train passionate youth as “Seed Teachers” to provide bilingual reading services in these schools. Your donation will support volunteer training, classroom materials, and the bilingual reading programs.

Due to their unique geographic location and high teacher turnover,  the gap in knowledge and skills between urban and rural children continues to widen. Thus, DENER hires professional tutors, providing long-term bilingual and reading courses. Your support will help sustain these tutors’ visits, offering consistent educational support to children in remote areas and narrowing the academic gap.
